The Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regulation (Permenkumham) Number 22 of 2023 regarding Visa and Residence Permits, along with the Ministry of Finance Regulation Number 82 of 2023, enacted on August 30, 2023, form the basis for implementing the Golden Visa policy. This visa classification is intended for high-quality foreign nationals who will benefit the country's economic development, including individual and corporate investors.
- To reside in Indonesia for 5 (five) years, individual foreign investors who plan to establish a company in Indonesia are required to invest US$ 2,500,000 (approximately Rp. 38 billion Rupiah). For a 10 (ten) year stay, the required investment amount is US$ 5,000,000 (approximately Rp. 76 billion);
- For corporate investors forming a company in Indonesia, an investment of US$ 25,000,000 (approximately Rp. 380 billion) grants a 5 (five) year Golden Visa for their directors and commissioners; an investment of US$ 50,000,000 will grant a 10 (ten) year stay;
- Different provisions apply to individual foreign investors who do not intend to establish a company in Indonesia. For a 5 (five) year Golden Visa, applicants are required to place funds amounting to US$ 350,000 (approximately Rp. 5.3 billion), which can be used to purchase Indonesian government bonds, shares of public companies, or placed in savings/deposits; for a 10 (ten) year Golden Visa, the required fund placement is US$ 700,000 (approximately Rp. 10.6 billion).
Golden Visa holders can enjoy several exclusive benefits of this visa type. These include longer residence periods, ease of entry and exit from Indonesia, and efficiency as there is no longer a need to handle ITAS (Limited Stay Permit) at the immigration office.
